Polyurethane RRIM
In polyrethane (PU) reinforced reaction injection moulding (RRIM) two highly reactive components, an isocyanate and a polyol, are mixed together in small chambers at high pressure (from 100 to 200 bar) to form a polyurethane. One component generally contains an abrasive filling and reinforcement material.
This results in a thermoset PU moulding with high rigidity, improved dimensional stability under heat and a reduced coefficient of thermal expansion.
